Pound Cake

I stopped by Mom’s this afternoon and she was making a recipe from the old cookbook.  The cover and back have worn off and all the pictures are in black and white.  People in the old days used to have one cookbook and cook everything out of it.  Not like today.

She was making pound cake.  A pound of flour, a pound of butter and a pound of milk.  That’s why they call it pound cake.
